The Jesters started as an Adult Education Class offered by the Town of Windsor in 1950. The students in the class were having such fun, they decided to use the class as an opportunity to launch a Community Theatre Group. They launched themselves as The Windsor Jesters, a non-profit community theatre group, in 1951.
Originally, the group was affiliated with what is now the Loomis Chaffee School, using their performance space. From there, they moved to the Milo Peck Community Center (the old Chaffee School) and then moved to the L.P. Wilson Community Center when it opened.
The Jesters welcome all people to their group. You may join and become an active member with voting rights or simply become a "friend of the Jesters." We welcome "gypsies" who move from group to group and we welcome "homebodies."
The Jesters have traditionally performed one to three main stage productions each year.
